Warrant Canary
Last updated: December 20, 2024
What is a Warrant Canary?
A warrant canary is a statement that we have not received any secret government requests for user data. If we ever receive such a request with a gag order, we would be prohibited from disclosing it directly. However, we could stop publishing this canary, which would serve as an indirect warning.
Current Status
As of December 20, 2024, we can confirm:
- We have not received any National Security Letters
- We have not received any court orders under FISA
- We have not received any gag orders preventing us from disclosing government requests
- We have not been required to modify our systems to allow access or data collection
- We have not provided any user data to any government agency
Important Note
Even if we were to receive a legal request for user data, we maintain a strict no-logs policy. We do not store connection logs, traffic data, or IP addresses. This means we would have no data to provide in response to such requests.
Update Schedule
This warrant canary is updated monthly. If this page has not been updated for more than 60 days, you should assume the canary has died.
